Australian Rowing success

Anna Rowland (Rutherford House) and Mr Mark Clemo have recently returned from the Queensland Schools Championships rowing regatta.
The regatta was held, in hot temperatures on the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton, Queensland – a known spot for crocodiles and bull sharks. Anna won a silver medal as part of the Auckland Light Blues Girls 8. This was a very good result for the Auckland crew coming in the NZ off-season and losing only to the Australian national under 17 title holder.
Anna also represented Macleans College in two smaller boat races.
Mr Clemo was Team Manager having overall responsibility for the highly successful Auckland Light Blues rowing squad which won 9 medals at this very competitive regatta.
