Auckland Squash Team Championships 2024

The top Macleans College squash players recently took part in the Auckland Squash Team Championships at the North Shore Squash Centre.
The boys' team of Tanish Naidoo (Upham House), Alex Rose (Hillary), Daniel Pokorny (Te Kanawa), Charlie Bond (Batten) and Davin Burn (Upham) showed great resilience throughout their matches. They were often versing students with much higher rankings but they persevered regardless. After two narrow losses the boys finished seventh.
The girls' team of Amelie Lianto (Snell), Jeslyn Jiang (Upham), Emily Chan (Kupe), Ana Pirini (Snell) and Emily Russell (Snell) played strongly and supported each other superbly. After two very narrow losses to Westlake Girls High School and Epsom Girls Grammar School, with many matches going to overtime and extra points, the girls finished in an impressive fourth place.
