On Wednesday May 24th thirty-five IGCSE music students attended a performance by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at the Auckland Town Hall to learn about Vivaldi’s well known work, the Four Seasons.
Part of the APO outreach programme, the evening was conducted by Richard Gill who gave regular explanations and snippets of information to the audience, as he directed Vivaldi’s work, being performed by the live orchestra.
"It was quite exciting to listen to a live concerto. I like how they dissected parts of the music to show how Vivaldi described the nature. I could imagine the scenery through the music which was an eye opening experience." (Seo Yeon Nam 11FRRK)
"I learnt the bigger meaning behind Vivaldi’s pieces and every bar expresses a beautiful reflection of nature." (Prisha Desai 10RYAB)
