Auckland-Northland Region: Schools Teams Bridge Competition

On Thursday 8 September, Macleans College hosted the Auckland-Northland Region’s Schools Teams Bridge Competition, defending the trophy won when the last competition was held pre-COVID-19.

With six teams entered and some players having over three years’ experience in playing Bridge, Macleans College was expected to feature strongly.

The competition came down to the last match when the two top Macleans College sides faced off. Team 1, led by Andrew Chen (Te Kanawa House) held a narrow advantage over Team 6 under Lisa Ye (Kupe) going into these games. After the final six games Andrew’s team prevailed by six victory points to win the trophy and keep it in the hands of Macleans College.
