Auckland Junior Volleyball Championships

Macleans College students have participated in the Auckland Junior Volleyball Championships which were held earlier this month in Auckland.

Luke Holmes (Upham House) who captained the team was one of the stand out players at the tournament and was selected for the Auckland Junior Volleyball team.

The competition which ranges from Pukekohe in the south, to Orewa in the north, featured over 32 teams. The Macleans College team won their section and qualified for the quarter finals but narrowly lost to Rangitoto College and finished in eighth position.

The other members of the team were Jordan Hohneck (Te Kanawa), Levi De Jong (Snell), Oliver Hughson (Snell), Harry Smith (Snell), Jerry Jiang (Batten), Trent Marshall (Batten), Dominic Mutti (Batten), Dominic Thompson (Rutherford) and Alec Cao (Upham). The team are coached by Mr David Becroft and Randy Jiang, Year 12 from Te Kanawa, assisted with coaching and mentoring.
