Auckland Cross Country Championships

Forty-five students represented Macleans College at the Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships held at Barry Curtis Park last week.

Junior Boys:
1st David De Vaal (Kupe House)
2nd in 3-person event - David De Vaal, Kalani Hokianga (Kupe) 7th, Luke Hitchcock (Upham) 8th.

Senior Girls:
3rd in 6-person event – Charlotte Smaill (Hillary) 24th, Aleesha De Jong (Snell) 30th, Gemma Black (Upham) 33rd, Antonia Chan (Mansfield) 36th, Christina Beer (Snell) 39th, Caitlyn Khoo (Te Kanawa) 42nd

Senior Boys:
2nd Theo Quax (Kupe)<br>2nd in 3-person event – Theo Quax 2nd, Ethan Verner (Kupe) 16th, Flynn Palmer (Te Kanawa) 21st
2nd in 6-person event - Theo Quax 2nd, Ethan Verner 16th, Flynn Palmer 21st, Oliver Roberts-Swain (Hillary) 23rd, Angus Stewart (Snell) 36th, Thomas Hughson (Snell) 38th.

All students did extremely well. We were also 4th in the Intermediate Girls and Boys and without a couple of injuries could have placed higher. We look in a good position for this weekend’s National Championships in Christchurch.
