Posted on April 24, 2023

Earlier this month 28 AS Geography students and four teachers Mrs Glasgow-Palmer, Ms Hon, Mr Percival and Ms Virk visited the Waitomo Village area.

The reason for the trip was to reinforce the student learnings of the rocks and weathering topic especially with regards to the weathering of limestone rock and the process of carbonation and the features it produces.

Activities during the day included zip lining across the Waitomo hillsides, visiting the main cave, boating underneath the glow worms and a visit to the smaller Aranui cave of stalactites and stalagmites.
