Arcadia theatre trip for English Literature students

The page was brought to the stage for 20 A Level English Literature students who went to see Arcadia at the Dolphin Theatre in Onehunga.
The trip complemented their study of Tom Stoppard this year, with an insight into how past and present can exist on stage simultaneously. There were innuendoes aplenty, a debate on order versus disorder and a very well behaved tortoise.
The actors of the play were flattered that A Level students had chosen to attend this more challenging Stoppard play. Clearly, curiosity is something these students thrive on, or as Stoppard puts it, “When we have found all the meanings and lost all the mysteries, we will be alone on an empty shore”.
