Annual Upham House ANZAC Service

The annual formal Upham House ANZAC Service was held yesterday.

Mr Brian Peel Deputy House Leader welcomed guests and this was followed by an address by Amanda Upham the daughter of Charles Upham. She was thanked by Tamanna Bhatia.

House Leader Sue Rivalland welcomed the guests namely Amanda Upham, the President of the Howick Returned Services Association Ray Sangster, the immediate Past President Mike Cole, the Vice President Colin Smith, Principal Byron Bentley, Mrs Gay Gallagher and foundation member of Upham House Warren Yardley.

Mr Sangster spoke about the close relationship between Macleans College and the Howick RSA and he was thanked by Samuel Jansson-Bush, Mr Cole read the roll of local fallen soldiers and was thanked by Tamanna, Flanders Field was read by Bronte Croad while the Ode to the Fallen Soldier was read by Gemma Black and Tarran O’Shaughnessy.

Former student Robert Hudson played the Last Post and Reveille.
