Amnesty International Day
Posted on September 17, 2019
Amnesty International Day was held on Tuesday 10 September by members of the Amnesty International Club - to raise awareness and advocate for issues in need.
The Amnesty International Club is a growing club within the school. This year, the enthusiastic members of the club worked together to host an interactive day to promote issues such as the death penalty, torture, abortion, human trafficking, and more.
Members of the club split into groups and set out to educate others and bring attention to controversial issues around the world today. Through petitions, posters, brochures, banners, activities and videos the club was able to reach out to students and teachers alike, bringing light to a range of causes.
The day contributed to the success of the club this year, as the club has raised money through a series of fundraisers as well as encouraging members to share their own thoughts and perspectives in discussions and debates.
