Adventure Race teams claim second and third in Taranaki

Last month the Senior Adventure Race team competed in a six-hour adventure in the cold weather of Taranaki.

The eight senior racers competed in two teams and took out second and third place, almost clearing the map. The race consisted of mountain biking, trail running, navigation and three mystery activities (mini-golf, gumboot throw and team puzzle solving).

The teams performed superbly and used this event as training for the upcoming Hillary Challenge North Island Qualifier race. They raced as hard as they could with a few of them cramping as they came across the line. It was an impressive performance and provided valuable experience for the team.

The team consisted of Lily West (Upham House), Samuel Muggleston (Rutherford), Connor Macmillan (Rutherford), Judd Brown (Mansfield), Jaxon Lewis (Te Kanawa), Millie Thompson (Batten), Jazmyn Crowther (Rutherford) and Ashleigh Edginton (Te Kanawa).
