11GEC Muriwai Field Trip

On Wednesday 7th March the IGCSE Geography students visited Muriwai Beach on a field trip accompanied by Mrs Jackson, Mr Quesnell and Ms Kenny.

After their arrival the students measured longshore drift and beach profiles. Some groups had excellent success measuring longshore drift while other groups carefully placed their measuring tapes on what was dry land to turn around and see them being dragged out to sea.

After lunch the groups travelled to Mokoroa Falls. Despite not having time to complete all the measurements at the river it was an opportunity to see in action the various fluvial processes that had been discussed in the classroom.
