Hi, I'm Amanda, I come from Brazil to spend two terms at Macleans College and I would like to share this amazing experience with you.
It is with mixed emotions that I write this report today as my time in New Zealand is coming to an end. I can hardly believe that six months have passed since I embarked on this incredible journey as an international student.
Reflecting upon my experience, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I have had and the friendships I have formed during my time here. New Zealand has been more than just a destination for studying; it has become a second home to me.
I have been fortunate to immerse myself in the rich cultural tapestry of this beautiful country. From the breathtaking landscapes to the warm and welcoming people, New Zealand has left an indelible mark on my heart. The kiwi way of life, with its emphasis on nature, sustainability, and inclusiveness, has truly inspired me.
I have also had the privilege of studying alongside brilliant people from all corners of the world. The diverse perspectives and shared experiences have broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of different cultures. The bonds I have formed with fellow international students and Kiwi friends will forever hold a special place in my memories. I was so well received by the students, staff, international department, teachers and host family, that I could not have asked for more.
I will carry the lessons I've learned, the friendships I've cultivated, and the unforgettable moments with me as I embark on the next chapter of my life. Macleans College showed me that study can be fun and interactive, it helped me to see my weaknesses and strengths, improve my leadership skills and learn new hobbies with the adventure time at Outdoor Education classes and the interesting Design classes.
To all those who have supported me throughout this journey, I extend my sincerest gratitude. Your kindness, guidance, and encouragement have made my time at Macleans College all the more enriching.
Though I may be leaving physically, the spirit of New Zealand will forever be a part of me. I will cherish the memories we created together and hold them close to my heart.
Thank you, Macleans College, for opening your arms and embracing me as one of your own. Thank you to all the teachers that taught me much more than just their subjects. Thank you to all the staff of the International Department, that helped me feel at home. I leave with a renewed sense of purpose, lifelong connections, and a deep appreciation for the experiences we shared.
Until we meet again, kia ora and farewell.
Warmest regards,
Amanda Turossi Ferro.
